Effective September 2026

The short version

The Daily Tech Tip is free to read. We do not sell your personal data. The site uses browser features and third-party services to run the installable web app, receive forms, show videos, and support advertising.

Information the site may collect

When you visit, the browser and hosting services may process standard technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, and approximate visit time. If you submit Ask Ad or a newsletter form, Netlify processes the information you enter, such as your name, email address, topic, and message.

Google AdSense

Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Embedded YouTube videos

Featured videos use click-to-play previews. YouTube is not loaded until you choose to play a video. After you click, Google or YouTube may set cookies or collect usage information under their own policies.

No sale of personal data

We do not sell personal data or collect payment details through this site.

Children’s privacy

The Daily Tech Tip is a general-audience information site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Cookie consent

On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies for advertising. Your choice is saved in your browser (localStorage) so the banner does not ask again. If you accept, Google may set advertising cookies and show personalized ads. If you decline, Google’s advertising code still loads but ads are served non-personalized, without advertising cookies. You can revisit your choice at any time by clearing this site’s stored data in your browser settings.

Site statistics

To display honest visitor counts, the site uses a third-party counting service that records page views and newsletter signups as plain numbers. These counts are never sold or shared.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy when the site or its services change. For a privacy question or correction, use the Contact page.
