Are robots about to take factory jobs — or make them?

Factory robots usually automate tasks, not whole occupations: lifting, repetitive handling, inspection, and work in hazardous areas are easier targets than the judgment and improvisation spread across a human job. Humanoids could fit existing factories without rebuilding every workstation, but cost, uptime, safety, and maintenance will decide whether that flexibility is real. Expect some roles to shrink, others to change, and new work in integration and repair—while demanding evidence from production lines rather than demos.
